Rush of Fools sings some simple, but solid lyrics in the new WAY FM song, "Lay Me Down." As you really listen to the song, you'll find yourself being reminded of these 5 lessons God teaches us.
1. Our lives should be a sacrifice.
"And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him." (Romans 12:1)
2. We belong to God.
"If we live, it’s to honor the Lord. And if we die, it’s to honor the Lord. So whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord." (Romans 14:8)
3. There's no life apart from God.
“Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing." (John 15:5)
"God created everything through him, and nothing was created except through him. The Word gave life to everything that was created, and his life brought light to everyone." (John 1:3-4)
4. God can make your life shine in the darkness.
"We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure.[b] This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves." (2 Corinthians 4:7)
"In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father." (Matthew 5:16)
5. There is joy in praying for God's will.
"And we are confident that he hears us whenever we ask for anything that pleases him. And since we know he hears us when we make our requests, we also know that he will give us what we ask for."
