You have a hard and important job!  Jamie Brusehoff is not only a mom but also a pastor's wife. She says that she loves seeing and even hearing small children in church.
Kids in Church   "I see them learning. In the midst of the cries, whines, and giggles, in the midst of the crinkling of pretzel bags and the growing pile of crumbs, I see a little girl who insists on going two pews up to share peace with someone she's never met."
This pastor's wife makes a good point. When kids are in church, they are learning important lessons at a young age. But how much of the sermon do they really understand? How hard is it to really sit still and behave during the service? I am a huge advocate of kid's church since I volunteer and work with it every week. It's classes during church that age specific for the kiddos. It allows them to be rowdy, but also to learn about God with age appropriate material. Most churches offer classes for kids during the service so why not send them? Kids can also distract everyone from the sermon. I watched my dad get so distracted by crying babies while preaching. It can be hard to hear when kids start getting fussy. Yes, it's good to have kids in church, but if kids church is offered I don't understand why parents don't take their kids to it.
