When Colton Dixon met his wife, Annie, her family had just gone through the loss of her brother a few months prior. But he says, "You never would have known it, talking with them or spending time with them. They just had such a joy and an understanding about it." Annie's family and this verse in 1 Thessalonians 4 inspired this poignant song called "The Other Side." It provides even more hope in the midst of grief than you're expecting. "13 And now, dear brothers and sisters, we want you to know what will happen to the believers who have died so you will not grieve like people who have no hope. 14 For since we believe that Jesus died and was raised to life again, we also believe that when Jesus returns, God will bring back with him the believers who have died." 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14
Colton says, "God is comforting us... when you think about what Jesus did for you, He not only died for you, but He also defeated death, so that we didn't have to fear it. So, they just stand in this, in the victory... We have nothing to fear and we are looking forward to seeing Dylan again on the other side." What does Annie have to say about the song and her experience? Hear more from her and Colton on the More Than the Music Podcast.
