What to Do When You Need God but Cannot Find Him

What is it like to be in the desert and to feel like God has abandoned you? Katherine Wolf knows exactly how that feels. After being paralyzed by a brain stem stroke and almost losing her life, Katherine and her husband were left with so many questions. Is it a  mistake that I'm still here? Has God abandoned me? In the years that followed her brain rupture, Katherine explains that her questions were slowly replaced with clarity in the deeper things that she's always believed. She began to cling to the hope that God was absolutely at work, even if she wasn't able to see it yet.

1. Know you are here for a reason.

"I felt in those very deepest moments that God was up to something very powerful or I would not have lived in this broken situation and Ephesians 4:1 "I had to respond by living a life worthy of this special calling I'd received."

2. You do not have to handle this season on your own.

"This was not something I could remotely handle at all, but God handles things through us. He enables us in His strength and His power. 2 Peter 1:3 says He gives us everything we need. He is at work and taking care of me in this."

3. Respond to the suffering with gratitude.

"It's been a game changer for me. When I was first married, we were challenged to write down thanksgiving to God every day. I think I really took to that idea of slowing down and thanking God for what's in my life. Now it's almost second nature!"
Live thanksgiving. Make it a habit.   [fluidvideo url="https://www.youtube.com/embed/MF2a6xcF-Uk"]
